When I asked about the story he just said “Well, I can’t tell you that!”

He may know though.

The “Das Keyboard” is highly regarded as the greatest keyboard since the Northgate OmniKey 101. Unfortunately the price for the damn thing went form $90 to $130 because whoever made Das Keyboard decided to have a totally un-necessary USB hub that somehow made it worth $40 more.

This is the Northgate Omnikey 101.

This is Das Keyboard.

They are both really awesome and maybe, someday, I’ll review the Omnikey 101. But the chances of me spending $130 on Das Keyboard are slim.

Wait, what was I talking about? Oh, right, Best Buy.

So here I was at Best Buy, going through all the keyboards looking for something that fit my criteria. I saw nothing. Then I noticed a large blue, rectangular box that said DYNEX on it. The price was amazing, $20. TWENTY DOLLARS! I bought the damn thing without even thinking about it.

Before I go into the actual review,  let me tell you why I needed a damn keyboard in the first place.

See, I have a gaming laptop(Toshiba Satellite) as my main PC. The keyboard was nice, it even had a number pad on the side which is something you don’t see very often. But when trying to write my arms would get tired from the angles. So, basically, I couldn’t write for more then 20 minutes. This just doesn’t work in my line of work. I need to be able to write comfortable for long periods of time. Plus, gaming on the thing proved awkward. So, I picked up the DYNEX Mu;timedia Keyboard.

Now the Review:

My Criteria:

1. Must clack fairly loudly when used {10 points}
2. Must be comfortable {15 points}
3. Must be affordable{10 points}
4. Must be durable{5 points}

1. The Clacking

My search for the “clack” in keyboards is over. While the clack doesn’t sound as nice as older keyboards it stll sounds nice to be hearing all the tactile feedback. {7.5 points}

2. Comfort

Thankfully, the Dynex Multi-Media Keyboard Comes with an extender for the bottom of the keyboard. This is given to rest your wrists. Two problems with it though: 1) It broke of incredibly easily and 2) It’s not very good, you could say that this detachable piece of plastic is just some leftover crap from the plant this was produced in.

Without the extender though, the keyboard is still fairly comfortable. {12 Points}

3.  Affordability

At $20 this little keyboard has alot of use.{10 Points)

4. Durability

Pretty bad. It’s a light keyboard and it feels as though it was made from the cheapest plastic available. As I stated before, the extender borke off with only a few uses.  But it could last, at the minimum, at least a full year (my estimate). {3 Points}

Total: 32.5/40

Other Things I liked/Disliked

The Multi-Media Keys on the left and right sides of the keyboard are fantastic. They feel great and work with Zune Software and iTunes incredibly well.

Dust seems to be attracted to the poor thing.

Overall:

If you’re looking for the keyboard to end all keyboards. This isn’t it. But it’s a cheap alternative. Dynex has always been commited to making great products at incredibly low prices. I applaud them and their products.

NOT TONIGHT

“Okay, William Shatner or Donald Trump?” Razputan, or Raz as Leo called him, always asked these “who would win in a fight?” kind of questions. Usually to ease the tension while on a mission. So, on a mission like this one, the satirical questions were more than welcome.

“The Mission:” said Raz “Locate cell number FVI6 within the Shenandoah Institute for the Mentally Insane. Once located, enter cell, put ductape on cell resident’s mouth, then douse padded walls with gasoline. After cell is covered with gasoline, light that shit up. Oh, and it’s a military asylum, so look out for the few thousand soldiers stationed at the barracks up the block.”

These reports were always really boring for Leo, so Raz had to read them to Leo, three times, just to get the point of the mission across. But that’s how the two of them balanced each other out. Razputan received a PhD in philosophy, computer science, Physics, chemistry, biology, psychology, and Latin all in three years from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Obviously, Raz was always the smart one. Where as Leo graduated from “The University of Smartass” with a PhD in “Ass-Kickery”. Leo was a bit more daring than Raz though, he preferred close quarters combat and carried a shotgun and a machete. Where as Raz preferred a more distanced approach, carrying an AK47 and Shuriken.

“Seeing as Trump’s hair resembles that of a wild, Chupacabra like thing that may strike at any moment. I’m gonna go with Trump.” Said Leo as he searched for cell FVI6. “Here we are.” Leo stopped and Raz started picking the lock. “Get that ductape ready.” Raz ordered.

The door swings open, Leo rushes through the door.

There was no one inside the cell. Nothing but white, padded walls. “Did control make a mistake?” Leo thought to himself. No, they couldn’t have.

In fact, in all the thirteen years Leo served he never heard of control screwing up. Never, in the twenty-three years that Leo had known Raz did he ever hear of Raz screwing up. He’d know if Raz ever did screw up though. They’d been friends since their training with those mercenaries. Leo and Raz were the best team the world had ever seen. Each tried to out-gift the other on Christmas or on birthdays, each of them always made sure the other had enough ammo, and each of them protected the other.

Leo flashes back to his first mission with Raz. They were supposed to evacuate the Japanese Prime Minister so they could protect him from the country’s rebel armies. Leo was shot 23 times. He was laying on the ground, breathing heavily, expecting death. Raz slid up next to Leo screaming “NOT TONIGHT! NOT YET!” Raz patched up each of Leo’s wounds and carried him to the evac-copter. While inside the copter, Raz knelt by Leo and said “ We are alchemists, the first rule of Alchemy’s Law of Equivalent Exchange is ‘Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return.’ Remember that.”

Leo comes out of his flashback. Raz is standing in the doorway, smiling. Leo notices a stench coming from the walls, he can’t quite place it though. Raz points to an envelope on the floor. Leo picks it up and reads the note inside of the envelope.6

“TONIGHT.”

Raz watched as that silver Zippo lighter fell onto that oil stained, padded floor. All of a sudden the padding on the walls lights up in flames. But right before Leo is set ablaze he realizes something.

Leo, flesh slowly feeling away from his face, yells:

“YOU FORGOT THE DUCTAPE!”

The Sonic Team has done a great job making DS releases that A) Don’t suck and B) give us feelings of old and new. In fact, these games are creating the beginning of a comeback on Sonic’s part. If Sonic can deliver on the 360 then you can consider his blue ass saved. Which means Sonic will finally gain his street cred back!

Anyway, I made yet another post with Sonic mntioned in it.

Well, I want to learn C# so my buddies and I can get an XNA club going and release a game. So, we got 10 guys and girls to join The Team {That’s our name! Well, so far at least} and went to Barnes and Noble to get some C# books.

Jesus H. Christ these things cost alot.

I mean, there were no books under$45 dollars! Damn, this shit’s expensive.

Anyway, I took some cash down to my local gamestop and bought THREE copies of Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood and ONE copy of Need for Speed: Prostreet just for Child’s Play.

I know this is a crappy update but I’ll have a bigger and better one up tomorrow.

But that’s besides what I saw at Target. As I walked down the aisle I spotted BANJO KAZOOIE 3 on a sales sticker, under an empty row, for $40. I ran towards a worker there to see if they had anymore.

No, they didn’t goddammiit!

Well, let’s look on the positive side. I got Saints Row 2 and Resistance 2! I get to play those!

Wait, what? The wii and PS2 versions of Sonic Unleashed will be out a whole week before the 360 version?

NNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

This one just doesn’t make much sense. Why release the obviously inferior versions first( I’m not saying the Wii or PS2 is weak I’m just saying they have mostly Last Gen tech)? I mean C’mon!

But I guess I have to wait for the 360 version to come out in……
